Although inspired by Seat's diesel-powered Leon TDI race cars competing in the BTCC series, the new Seat Leon FR550 is by no means a sports car. Differing from the normal FR TD only in terms of paint job and standard equipment, the vehicle gets its 550 index not from the engine's volume but from the total number of copies set to be sold to the local motor sports enthusiasts.

It seems that Audi's North American customers won't be able to help the world get a little bit greener. Speaking in an interview to the AutoWeek magazine, Audi's executive vice president Johan de Nysschen said that his company has eventually canceled plans of importing a hybrid version of the Q7 full-size crossover SUV. It just won't make any profit with the dollar in its current shape.

Looks like some people do believe that Volkswagen's warmed-up hatchback Golf R32 is not hot enough for them. With its 250 hp 3.2-liter V6 engine and 6.2 seconds of zero to 62 mph acceleration time, the original R32 is just too dull and boring to drive. Okay, here comes the brand new Abt R32 tuning package.

At least, when it comes to such refined street-legal performance vehicles as the new Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI sports wagon.

The Commercial Vehicle Show has just closed its doors in Birmingham but Nissan successfully managed to cease the opportunity to get the local public acquainted with its small but powerful NP300 pickup truck. Equipped with a 2.5-liter, 133 bhp and 304Nm (224 lb-ft) Euro 4 compliant diesel engine, which seems to be adequate to the vehicle's max payload of 1115kg (2457 lbs), the vehicle will be available in three trims -- Single cab, king cab and double cab.

Mercedes-Benz plans to equip its refreshed 2008 GL-Class SUV with the ecofriendly BlueTEC diesel engines. The clean oil-burners use urea-based AdBlue solution that helps reducing emissions of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel engines. The engines are expected to meet both Stateside "bin 5" and the European Euro VI emission standards.

Seat will soon add a cheaper trim to its popular Altea Freetrack model range. Equipped with a decent 2.0 140hp TDI diesel engine, the new entry-level model will feature a fuel economy of only 6.5 liters per 100 km (about 36.2 mpg), zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 10.2 and a maximum speed of 193 km/h (120 mph).

The German BMW tuning specialist has just presented its fresh tuning program for the 2007 BMW X5. Called Lumma CLR X530, the program is aimed to boost performance of the diesel-powered SUVs while significantly enhancing its appearance. The white-painted body kit is just great. In fact, it looks so neat you want to buy a Bimmer to have a good excuse to get one.

2008 Renault Koleos: that is what happens when you take Nissan's R&D combined with Renault's current exterior and interior design style. The little car-based crossover SUV is not just controversial or, say, innovative-looking (especially, if you consider that the Koleos concept car was first presented to the public about two years ago). It is just plain ugly.
