DaimlerChrysler has announced that the latest iteration of not-so-successful Smart Fortwo super mini is available to order starting Monday. The tiny vehicle will be delivered as a coupe and a cabrio and will be offered with a choice of four engines, including an oil-burner.

Project Kimber plans to assemble Smart Roadster in Wales
Project Kimber industry group that was initially formed to acquire MG Rover business but, failing to do so, decided to re-launch the discontinued Smart Roadster, has unveiled its plans to open a new production facility somewhere in Wales, Great Britain.

DaimlerChrysler May Build Smart Car in the US
Citing DaimlerChrysler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche, Reuters reports that DaimlerChrysler corporation apparently considers building its Smart minicar in the United States. Talking to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Zetsche said that "the tendency [to grow Smarts on American soil] is clearly positive".

Smart Roadster To Be Manufactured by Project Kimber
MarketWatch reports that DaimlerChrysler AG and UK-based consortium Project Kimber agreed to continue their negotiations on the future of the Smart Roadster minicar. Edmunds.com says that estimated price of the deal will be less than $17 million.
