General Motors has officially confirmed that the first 2009 Hummer H3T sport utility truck will roll off the assembly line in Shreveport, La. in the third quarter of 2008. Planned to be presented to the public at the next week Chicago Auto show, the truck will be available in the North American market, as well as in Europe and the Middle East.

General Motors has confessed that it's being silently developing a new Duramax V8 oil-burner to power its charismatic Hummer H2 SUV as well as the pair of Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks. Scheduled to go on the assembly line by the end of year 2009, the diesel will have a displacement of 4.5 liters. Maybe, not so impressive for the local customer, but bear in mind that the engine will be 25 per cent more fuel efficient than its gasoline counterpart of comparable displacement.

General Motors is about to introduce to the local market another member of the growing Hummer H3 family. The second SUV in the exclusive Alpha series (the first one was the late 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha), the new Hummer H3 Alpha comes equipped with a mighty V-8 engine, increased by one-third towing capacity and unique exterior and interior features.

GM and ASC have partnered to turn a metrosexual Hummer H3 mini-SUV into an open-top lion-hunter's dream. The safari-style Hummer H3 is equipped with a special unidirectional sliding-fabric "Infinivu" roof system, which is supposed to provide the vehicle's passengers with heroic visions while keeping them in comfort, whether it's sunshine or a tropical rain outside.

Wait a minute, a racing SUV? Yeah, that's how German tuner GeigerCars.de is trying to sell some Hummers badly hit by the record-high gasoline prices. Taking absurdity to the highest level, GeigerCars.de GmbH has decided to put the extra stress to "S" in "SUV", making the truck looking much more like some Lambo after extensive steroids therapy combined with weight-lifting programm. Just look at those gull-wing doors...

An anonymous source in General Motors has confirmed the group's plans to create a competitor to the legendary Jeep Wrangler offroader: simple as truth and rugged as a tank. The planned vehicle will possibly join the mighty family and, hence, will receive the Hummer H4 badge.

Due to weak sales, General Motors executives agreed to stop production of the famous (but, oh, not so perfect) Hummer H1 sport utility vehicle. AutoWeek.com reports that formerly one of the most desired off-roaders will be discontinued this June.
