General Motors is expanding its presence on the European market with new station wagon based on the current Cadillac BLS small sedan, which, although 6 inches longer, is sharing its platform with front-wheel drive Opel Vectra and Saab 9-3. So, it will happen. GM CEO Rick Wagoner officially confirmed that General Motors is working on a hybrid version of Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV, which is set for release in late 2007. Escalade's hybrid transmission designed at GM's Allison division will be assembled at the Powertrain Baltimore Transmission plant. According to the corporate press release, the heavy-duty two-mode hybrid transmission will be similar to those used in a Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs.
