Mazdaspeed3 To Be Presented at The 2006 Geneva International Motor Show

Mazda Motor announced their plans to present the new Mazdaspeed 3 sport compact in Geneva. As the company puts it in its press release, the new Mazdaspeed 3, which will be marketed in Europe as Mazda 3 MPS (Mazda Performance Series), 'will be the fourth Mazda to carry the Mazdaspeed logo, just like the now selling Mazdaspeed 6 and Mazdaspeed MX-5' (alas, the authors of the press-release do not mention the name of the third car in the speedy family, so it must be the third one, I suppose).







The car will be equipped with a 2.3-liter MZR DISI TURBO engine with 274 hp and impressive 280 pound-feet of torque Mazdaspeed3 has a good chance to become one of the most powerful front-wheel drive hatchbacks that fly along the highways and autobahns.

Edmunds.com estimates that the Mazdaspeed 3 will cost not more than $25,000.
