Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 pricing announced

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, launched this spring at Geneva Motor Show, will cost UK customers £190,000 including VAT but without delivery costs.







The 'LP640' index stands here for a 6.5-liter V12 'longitudinale posteriore' engine featuring maximum power output of almost 640 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. If you don't speak Italian, then 'longitudinale posteriore' means that the engine is mounted lengthways behind the cockpit.

TopGear says that the engine is coupled to a new six-speed gearbox which can be ordered with an electronic sequential paddle shift. The pair is able to propel the car from zero to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The maximum speed tops mind-numbing 210 mph, but that is too fast for you, there is also an improvement in low-speed driving experience due to use of variable valve timing and futuristic drive-by-wire throttle control.
