Chevrolet TrailBlazer may be discontinued by 2010
After killing the long-base versions of the TrailBlazer and GM Envoy, General Motors considers discontinuing the line-up altogether. America is addicted to oil, you know. Oil prices go up without stopping and more buyers exchange their bulky gas-guzzling SUVs for more practical, although less sexy, family sedans and crossovers. That's why GM is shrugging off unsuccessful sport utility vehicles.

Although, the company had planned to unveil redesigned versions of the SUVs no later than by the first half of year 2008, it has cancelled that overhaul and decided to wait until demand comes to virtual zero and then to shut the plant down for good.

GM is also expected to discontinue 'companion models', such as Buick Rainier and the Saab 9-7X, and to replace them with some car-based crossovers.
