Nissan C+C+Conran to debut in London
Nissan plans to introduce a special version of its Micra C+C open-top city car, developed in cooperation with London designer Sebastian Conran. The C+C+Conran concept car, based on the 1.6 Nissan Micra C+C Essenza, features some new colors and trims that soon may be available on other Nissan vehicles.
Nissan C+C+Conran's design is centered on the new color scheme, developed by Sebastian Conran and called Blushing Black. Inspired by the deep black seen on Japanese traditional lacquer-ware and accented with red reflections, the scheme gets rid of traditional for the European and American automakers chrome decor in favor of a new dark grey color called Titanium Black. The color replaces chrome and silver on wheels, headlamps and instrument panel.
The cabin also features different shades of grey and red. There is red leather upholstery with laser-printed overlapping leaves on the sits. Instrument panel, doors and glovebox also feature red and black leather swathes.
In its press release, Nissan says that 'based on reaction to the car from visitors to the show the C+C+Conran, or a car very much like it, could possibly make production'.
