GM prices the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa duo
General Motors has finally unveiled its new pair of entry-level Corsa hatchbacks: a coupe-like three-door and a family-oriented five-door vehicle equipped with a completely new FlexFix retractable storage system, capable to carry up to two bicycles.
In its press release, GM says that the least expensive 1.0-liter 60 hp three-door Corsa is priced just €10,990, which is even lower than the price of the outgoing model. A five-door hatchback will have a base price of €11,675. Unfortunately, the FlexFix system comes only as an option and may be ordered for additional €490. A list of options also includes halogen Adaptive Forward Lighting system, which adds to a sticker price €390 and, as the company claims, is the first such system available in this class of vehicles.
The Corsa Edition version comes at a price of €12,435 for a car with 1.0-liter engine and is expected to became a bestseller. For €770 extra one can order a more popular 1.2-liter petrol engine featuring 80 hp of maximum power. Standard equipment here includes air conditioning, front power windows, radio remote control central locking, the double load floor DualFloor, an asymmetrically split rear seat back, and head curtain airbags as well as active head restraints in front.
There are also such options as large panorama sunroof (plus €790), ESP (plus €350) and maintenance-free diesel particulate filters (will cost you extra €525). As a promo, GM offers a package of radio-CD30 mp3 with steering wheel remote control and 16-inch alloy wheels for €600, which is a savings of €1100.
