Bugatti Veyron Targa may see the light in 2008
Bugatti seems to be working on a Targa semi-convertible version of its EB16.4 Veyron super-coupe. The vehicle's glass roof will be designed by German Webasto company, which has engineered VW Eos' folding hardtop.

Inside Line reports, that, unlike VW Eos or the Ferrari Enzo Targa, Veyron Targa will lack the ability to stow its roof on board: there is simply no space for it behind the seats, so future owners will have to leave the roof in a garage. Therefore, Bugatti plans to equip the Targa with a piece of canvas, which will protect the car's inhabitants against rain or sunshine.

To compensate for added weight, the Veyron Targa will receive carbon-fiber doors and hood. Of course, there will be some other slight modifications to the car's appearance, such as restyled grille and new headlights that can swivel synchronously with the front wheels.

Because of a heightened aerodynamic drag of the vehicle, EB16.4 Veyron Targa's top speed will be lowered by some 35 to 217 mph, but it will still be the fastest open-top on Earth.
