Ford cuts prices for the 2007 Expedition SUV

Trying to cope with declining demand on its large gas-guzzling SUVs, Ford Motor has lowered base prices for its 2007 Expedition vehicles, simultaneously getting rid of the base XLS model. The new entry-level Expedition XLT can now be ordered for as low as $29,995, which is $5,485 below the last year's XLT, and $3,485 lower than the previous base model, writes PaddockTalk.



The 2007 model range now feature standard Safety Canopy three-row side air curtains, AdvanceTrac with RSC, front row Captain's Chairs and a 5.4-liter Triton V-8 engine, capable to produce 300 horsepower and 365 lb-ft (495 Nm) of torque. The engine is mated to a new six-speed automatic, delivering 9,200 pounds of maximum towing capacity, which is 300 pounds better than last year.

As for the options, they now include 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, new DVD-based navigation system, SIRIUS satellite radio, and a power liftgate.

The 2007 Expedition Eddie Bauer comes for $36,395 and the Expedition Limited (Expedition LE) can be ordered for a base price of $37,845, which is respectively $3,200 and $3,500 cheaper than the 2006 MY trims.
