2008 Dodge Challenger to match the concept car
Talking to journalists yesterday, Chrysler's vice president and chief designer Tom Tremont pledged that the company will do its best to make the production version of the Dodge Challenger as close to the concept vehicle as possible.
"You're not going to be able to tell the difference," Tremont said.
As the Detroit News Online implies, Chrysler's engineers won't have to die behind the drawing boards, since the pony car was from the very beginning designed off the existing LX platform, shared by Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. Many other Challenger's specifications were also taken from the real world, so Chrysler don't have to wait till new technological processes arrive to make production possible.
The reborn Challenger will likely appear in its production form at Detroit's auto show in January.
