New Chevy Camaro is, probably, a go
General Motors is planning to put the well received 400-horsepower Chevy Camaro Concept into production as early as 2008. The muscle car will presumably be offered with a choice of a V6 and two V8 engines, the Detroit Free Press reports, citing anonymous sources, close to GM's top-management.

The newspaper also says that the 2008 Chevrolet Camaro will be built on the same GM's Zeta mid-size rear-wheel drive platform, which has already been used to produce the 2006 VE Holden Commodore sedan and will be employed to construct future 2007/2008 Pontiac GTO coupe, 2008 Chevrolet Impala, 2009 Pontiac G8 and so on.

GM's CEO Rick Wagoner is expected to make official statement on this point this Thursday.
