German B&B tuning company has offered an extensive tuning program for the new
VW Polo GTI Edition. They took
Polo's entry-level 1.8 Turbo engine and increased its power by some 30 hp by tinkering with the engine's electronic brains. And that's not all.
There are four more tuning stages, through which
GTI's power is increased to 220, 250, 272 and even 300 hp and 410 Nm of maximum torque. In the latter case the engine goes through extensive modifications, including special pistons, new connecting rods and new cylinder head and a larger turbocharger with improved cooling system.
All these upgrades now allow the
VW Polo GTI to jump from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.8 seconds and achieve an electronically limited top speed of 254 km/h (158 mph).
