Both versions come as C8 2.0 HDI but feature different engines. The more powerful produces 136 hp and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. The engine, available with a particulate filter, replaces an older 130 hp 2.2 HDI. The Citroen C8 with this kind of powerplant will feature 40mpg and will cost as low as £20,025, including £3,000 cashback, Channel4.com reports.

The second version comes with a 226 hp / 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) engine featuring 41 mpg and costing £18,000 only.

Both models are available with standard six-speed manual transmission, climate control, an alarm, remote-control sliding side doors, automatic wipers and rain-sensing wipers, as well as six airbags, stability control and traction control.
