Peugeot 607 is now available with twin-turbo diesel
Okay, it finally happened. The 2007 Peugeot 607 has eventually received a 2.2-liter twin-turbo HDi diesel engine, which is both fuel-efficient providing for 42.7 mpg in a combined cycle, and powerful enough to accelerate it from zero to 100km/h in just 9.3 seconds. Well, it is not a sports car, right?
The new powerplant produces a maximum of 170 hp @ 4,000 rpm and a considerable 277 lb-ft (375 Nm) of torque from as low as 1,500 rpm. The engine is not only powerful -- it provides for a decent fuel economy, too, returning about 44.1 mpg in the combined cycle.
The Peugeot 607 HDi will cost UK customers £26,495. For this money you'll get CD-changer, standard satellite navigation system, eight airbags, and built-in phone.
