Dodge Caliber tuned by Startech

Startech has presented its first tuning program for the European version of Dodge Caliber. The package offers a noticeable engine upgrade and some changes to the vehicle's appearance.







The original 2007 Dodge Caliber is powered by a VW's 2.0-liter CRD engine producing a maximum of 140 horsepower and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque. Startech's new ECU increases those numbers to 180 hp and 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) respectively available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. No wonder that the Caliber's acceleration from zero to 62 mph has dropped from 9.3 to more appealing 8.6 seconds.

Notwithstanding the modifications, the engine is still in compliance with the local Euro IV emissions standards.

The tuned Dodge Caliber may also be equipped with either 19- or 20-inch Monostar IV five-spoke wheels ranging from size 8.5Jx19 all around with tires up to 245/40 R 19 in size.

Later Startech plans to offer Calibers' owners with a set of aerodynamic appearance packages as well as the Startech Lifestyle interior customization options.
