The new GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado light pickup trucks will sell for almost the same money as their outgoing ancestors, but with much better standard equipment.

2007 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado
General Motors plans to sell the 2007 Silverado and Sierra in two basic trims: extended cab and the crew cab. The former will cost $23,605 for both Chevy and GMC, and the latter will sell for as low as $27,000. The prices include $900 destination charge and cover only two-wheel drive vehicles equipped with a standard 4.8-liter V8 engine.

The four-wheel drive models will start at $29,960 for the Chevrolet and $30,500 for the GMC with extended cab. Trucks with crew cab will cost at least $32,515 $33,055 respectively.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado
The list of standard equipment includes OnStar and a tire pressure monitoring system.
