2006 VW Touareg V10 TDI is now available
Volkswagen has started shipping the first lot of its outgoing 2006 VW Touaregs equipped with the latest V10 TDI turbo-diesel engine. Coming with a particulate filter, the new 5.0-liter V10 works on ultra low-sulfur fuel, therefore meeting US's strict emission requirements.

The engine, Leftlane News is reporting, develops healthy 310 horsepower available at 3,750 rpm and produces almost stunning 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque @ 2,000 rpm. The diesel consumes about 2/3 fuel, consumed by a gasoline engine of similar power output.
