Mercedes-Benz CLK200 Kompressor gets new engine

Both CLK-Class Coupe and Cabriolet models now may be ordered with a new CLK 200 Kompressor 2.0-liter engine. The new four-banger from Mercedes produces a maximum of 184 hp and delivers a peak torque of 184 lb-ft (250 Nm), which is respectively 21 hp and 10 Nm more than its predecessor could deliver.







No wonder that Mercedes Benz CLK200 Coupe now features a top speed increased to 147 mph and better acceleration, taking 8.8 seconds to jump from zero to 62 mph, which is 0.5 seconds better than with the older engine.

Although being more powerful, the new engine features the same mileage and CO2 emission levels. Pricing also remains the same. At least, in the U.K, starting from £29,910 for the Coupe and £33,510 for the Cabriolet.
