2008 Volvo V70 to be presented in Geneva
Volvo will officially unveil its latest V70 luxury wagon at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show to be held in March. Targeted at young couples with kids, the new premium vehicle will be all about safety and comfort.
2008 Volvo V70 will be delivered with a new inline 3.2-liter six-banger, producing a maximum of 235 hp. Although not giving exact mileage figures, Volvo PR blurb insists that the engine is efficient enough to meet current consumers' requirements.
The new V70 features more modern exterior design somewhat resembling styling cues unveiled with the latest Volvo C30 hatchback and comfort options, derived from the company's SUVs, such as optional power rear tailgate and a sliding cargo floor.
The car will also be equipped with dual, height-adjustable, child boosters in the second row and upgraded side-curtain airbags that extend by 2.3 inches to protect smaller children. The first setting targets kids between 42 and 55 inches in height and weighing between 48 and 79 lbs, the second takes care of babies measuring 37-47 inches and weighing between 33 and 55 lbs. The rear seats can split and fold in 40/20/40 proportions.
