Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Limited to just a few examples, the new Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is 100 kg lighter and 10 hp more powerful than the original Gallardo. Featuring an impressive 2.5kg/hp power to weight ratio, the vehicle needs only 3.8 seconds to sprint from zero to 62 mph, which is 0.2 better than the basic model can achieve.

The Superleggera's powerful 4.9-liter V10 engine produces a maximum of 530 hp reached at 8,000 rpm and is mated with a new transmission system that lets a driver to shift without taking his hands from the steering wheel.

To achieve better performance without dramatically modifying original engine's performance, Lamborghini's engineers have replaced some metal parts with light-weight carbon fiber and transparent polycarbonate. The latter, for example, is used to cover the engine hood and to replace some glass surfaces. The Superleggera's rear diffuser and underbody covering, the rearview mirrors, door panels and the central tunnel’s covering are made of carbon fiber.
