Callaway C16 Cabriolet to be unveiled in New York

Callaway Cars plans to unveil its new Chevy Corvette-based Callaway C16 Cabriolet during the upcoming motor show in New York. Being equipped with new powertrain, brakes and suspension, the new convertible will soon be available to order with either standard 560 or optional 616 hp engines.



The base model, LeftLane News is reporting, will be equipped with a supercharged version of Chevrolet Corvette's original 6.0-liter engine. The souped-up motor will feature a maximum of 560 hp @ 6,200 rpm and 529 lb-ft of peak torque @ 4,750 rpm. An additional Performance Package will boost engine's power output to 616 hp and 582 lb-ft of torque. Mated with six-speed manual or paddle-shift automatic transmission, these engines will push your drop-top C16 from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. And you'll get a quarter-mile in about 11 seconds.

Surprisingly enough, this powerful engine features really good fuel efficiency rating of 18mpg city / 28mpg highway.

The vehicle's price will start at hefty $128,765. Hope, it's worth its money.
