2008 Lexus LX 570 adds power, luxury, safety
The 2008 Lexus LX 570 luxury SUV has been unveiled at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. Set to replace the good old Lexus LX 470, the new LX 570 features more luxury, safety, additional living space and much more power.
The 2008 Lexus LX 570 comes equipped with huge 5.7-liter V8 engine capable of producing up to 381 horsepower, which is 110 hp more than the engine from the previous version could deliver. The peak torque has also been increased to over 400 lb-ft. The power is transferred to the wheels through Lexus' new six-speed sequential-shift heavy duty automatic full-time AWD transmission.
Well, it's no wonder that the LX 570 features a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds, while the previous model could tow no more than 6,500 pounds.
All this power rests peacefully on the SUV's new suspension. Called Four-Wheel Electro-Hydraulic Suspension with Active Height Control (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension, this technical masterpiece provides better comfort while maintaining vehicle's outstanding off-road capabilities. The secret is that the new suspension constantly monitors all LX 570's 20-inch wheels, detecting and actively mitigating their extension or deflection.
Inside, Lexus LX 570 features 10 standard air-bags, second-row seat belt pretensioners, and lots, lots of luxury, including a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with Reference Surround Sound and really expensive Bubinga wood trim.
The 2008 Lexus LX 570 will come to dealerships early next year.
