Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster matches the Coupe
Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed its new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster vehicle. Made of carbon fiber and equipped with high performance chassis, the roadster said to feature the same "extreme torsional stiffness" and safety level the SLR McLaren Coupe is known for.
The new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster is equipped with an AMG V8 compressor engine delivering 626 horsepower and 780 Nm of torque and capable of accelerating the sports vehicle to up to 332 km/h, also matching the coupe version and featuring zero to 62 mph acceleration of only 3.8 seconds.
The roadster comes with a semi-automatic roof-folding mechanism that takes only about ten seconds to open or close. An airbrake, integrated into the access lid, provides additional downforce to the sporty vehicle. Additional safety level is provided courtesy of carbon fiber crash elements, steel-reinforced A-pillars and two fixed roll-over bars.
The new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster will be produced in Woking, England, and will be available by September.
