2008 Peugeot 308
2008 Peugeot 308 will be officially presented only in September during the 2007 IAA motor show in Frankfurt, Germany. However, first "real" photos of the upcoming hatchback have somehow slipped into the Internet. Perhaps, somebody in Peugeot's PR department has decided to create some buzz before the car's official announcement.

Well, the 2008 Peugeot 308 looks good. Not that great as the 307 looked when it first appeared in the showrooms, but it's O.K. Maybe Peugeot's new "gaping mouth" corporate grille is too big for the relatively small hatchback and its rear reminds on Renault Megane, but overall the hatch looks more or less balanced and complete.

The 308's new interior also seems like it's been made of some higher quality materials, although it's difficult to judge by pictures alone.

WorldCarFans Blog is reporting that 2008 Peugeot 308 will be available with a 120 hp 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine and three 1.6, 2.0 and 2.2-liter HDi oil-burners. In the second half of the next year there may also be unveiled the 308 RC with 220hp 2.0-liter turbo. Experts also predict introduction of an electro hybrid and an E85 bioethanol model.

The Peugeot 308 will be available as a hatchback, a wagon and coupe-cabriolet.
