New Jeep Compass to Cost $15, 985
Chrysler's new controversial Jeep Compass in a basic configuration will cost less than $16,000, including a $560 destination charge. Seems that Chrysler Group has decided to start a little price war against its main competitors in this niche: the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson.

For this money you will get a standard 172hp World Engine mated with a five-speed manual transaxle. Free yourself of $1,800 more and Chrysler will ship you a Jeep Compass 4x4. Both trims come with such standard safety equipment as side-curtain airbags, ESP, ABS and traction control. An AM/FM CD radio, vinyl load floor and cloth seats also included.

Unfortunately, such necessities as six-disc CD player, SIRIUS satellite radio, power windows and speed control come only as options.

Those who can afford to pay $18,585 and $20,185 for a little bit more advanced models, can order a "E" Package that includes power mirrors, drivers power windows, remote keyless entry, air conditioning and some more things that make driver's life not so miserable.

A "Limited" package is the most expensive in the line-up. Jeep Compass Limited will cost you $20,140 and price for the Jeep Compass Limited 4x4 starts from $21,740. This trims also feature leather trimmed bucket heated seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted audio controls and speed control. There are also 18-inch aluminum wheels and all-season performance tires and driver lumbar support.
