As Audi is reporting in its press release, the 1,690 kg 2009 Audi A8 equipped with the company's new 2.8-liter FSI engine features a standard fuel consumption of only 8.3 liter per 100 km (that's about 34 mpg) and produces only 199 g/km of CO2 emissions, which is the best level in its class.

Performance is not sacrificed to the efficiency, though. The 2.8-liter V6 develops 210 bhp of power and delivers up to 280 Nm of torque available from 3,000 to 5,000 rpm. Not really impressive, but it will bring you from zero to 100 km/h in just 8.0 sec and will achieve a top speed of 238 km/h. Anyway, for those not so environmentally conscious there will be the range-topping Audi A8 W12 and Audi S8 with much more powerful motors.

Your safety will be ensured with the help of new steering system and new adaptive air suspension, as well as a set of new electronic assistance systems such as Audi Lane Assist and Side Assist that will warn the driver when accidentally drifting out of the lane or getting to close to another car.
