Holden VE Ute replaces the VZ model
Australian Holden has just revealed its brand new Holden VE Ute series of performance pick-ups. Set to replace the outgoing VZ model, the VE range is based on the last-year's Holden VE Commodore sedan. The entry-level Omega trim will start from 30,990 Australian dollars while the range topping SS V will cost $46,990.
All in all, there will be four price levels - Omega, SV6, SS and SS V - available with different flavors of either manual or automatic transmissions mated with a whole range of engines.
For example, the least expensive Holden VE Ute Omega is available with a 3.6L V6 producing up to 241 hp and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) of torque. It is mated to either 6-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The top of the line SS V comes equipped with 6.0-liter V8, capable of producing up to 367 hp and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque. This beast may be ordered six-speed automatic and six-speed manual gearbox.
The list of standard equipment includes ESP program; heavy duty cargo liner; a quick release seat latch; Blaupunkt audio system; six disc CD player (SS and SS V); sports-contoured seats (SS and SS V); Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity; Euro-style flat blade wipers; locking fuel filler door; one touch lane change indicator; LED high-mounted stop lamp (SS and SS V); dual zone electronic climate control (SS V); projector headlamps (SS V) and alloy faced pedals (SS V).
