2009 Jaguar XF launches in...
Right, 2009 Jaguar XF will be officially premiered in Frankfurt at the IAA motor show. Although intensively quoting styling queues from Lexus, BMW and even Aston Martin, the new XF will possibly become a landmark on the road to the new generation of Jaguar's sedans.

2009 Jaguar XF
The car is built around a steel chassis but there are lots of composite, magnesium and aluminum parts used in order to decrease the vehicle's weight. With a wheelbase of 2909mm, the Jaguar XF weighs from 1749kg for the naturally aspirated V8 to hefty 1842kg for the supercharged version, which is about 200 to 300 kg more than the class average. So, expect superb soundproofing and low level of engine vibrations.

2009 Jaguar XF (back)
The 2009 Jaguar XF, set to replace the obsolete Jaguar S-Type series, will be presented in four versions depending on the engine installed.

2009 Jaguar XF (side)
The flagship Jaguar XF SV8 will be equipped with a 420hp supercharged engine, which is powerful enough to accelerate the heavy sedan from zero to 60 mph in only 5.4 seconds.

2009 Jaguar XF (body)
The next model in line will be offered with a 300hp 4.2-liter V8 that enables a 0-60mph time of 6.2 seconds.

The least expensive Jaguar XF will come with a choice of either 240hp 3.0-liter V6 or a 210hp 2.7-liter turbodiesel taking about 7.9 seconds to jump to 60mph.

All the XFs, except for the diesel version, will have a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. The oil-burner will have a Vmax of only 143 mph.

Price is not yet announced.
