Bentley Continental GTC Unveiled
With the addition of the 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible Bentley completes the range of the renewed Continental series, which now consists of 2003 Bentley Continental GT coupe and four-door 2005 Bentley Continental Flying Spur.
The new luxury 2+2 GTC convertible sports W12 six-liter engine married with all-wheel-drive transmission and is able to reach top speed of 312km/h with roof up (306km/h with roof down). Thanks to such a powerful drivetrain that boasts not only remarkable 552bhp power but also features astonishing torque of 479 lb ft (650Nm) at 1600rpm the large and massive car accelerates from zero to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds.
Unfortunately, Bentley's engineers somehow decided to use classic soft fabric roof instead of a more practical and nice-looking mechanized metallic hardtop. Anyway, in its press release the company says that the electro-hydraulically-operated roof provides driver and passenger(s) with efficient acoustic damping. It takes the roof only 25 seconds to be completely folded and packed behind the rear seats.
Bentley plans to sell its first Bentley Continental GTC convertible by the end of the year. The price is yet to be announced.
