Peugeot 207 SW RC: focusing on looks
Peugeot will add another member to its growing 207 family at the upcoming 2007 IAA motor show in Frankfurt. Positioned as a warmed-up version of the tiny station wagon, the Peugeot 207 SW RC sports a small-displacement yet really efficient engine, but nevertheless lacks a lot of amenities that make the 207 RC the sports hatchback.

The car, Peugeot is reporting in its press release, will be dressed in a subtle-looking body kit, complemented with a set of 17-inch wheels fitted in Bridgestone Potenza tires (the wheels were outsourced from the aforementioned 207 RC).

The car will be motivated by a 1.6-liter THP engine, equipped with a Twin-Scroll turbocharger and producing 175 hp and 240 Nm of torque, available between 1,600 and 4,500 rpm. Courtesy of Peugeot's 'overboost' function, the maximum amount of torque may jump an extra 20 Nm in the three highest gears. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, letting the vehicle accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and climb from 80 to 120 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

No wonder that the vehicle's fuel consumption is relatively high, reaching 7.4 liters per 100 km, which is about 38.2 mpg.
