2008 Volvo XC70 will start at $37,520
The 2008 Volvo XC70 station wagon with some cross-country skills will cost as low as $37,520. That's in the United States, with $745 destination charge included and valid from October 1, 2007.
Inside Line is reporting that last model year's Volvo XC70 2.5 T was available at price of $37,115, including a $695 destination charge, so the refreshed model will cost 1.09% more than the outgoing model.
For the extra money (well, technically speaking, the new car will be even less expensive than the older one due to inflation) you'll get a 3.2-liter inline-V6 engine borrowed from much pricier Volvo S80 and capable of developing 235hp @ 6,200 rpm and 236 lb-ft @ 3,200 of torque.
The engine also features lightweight aluminum block and head with twin overhead camshafts and 24-valves as well as Volvo's patented CPS system. It is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
