Official: 2007 Smart ForTwo will start at $11, 590
It's been officially confirmed by Daimler that the new iteration of Smart ForTwo supermini's price tag will be positioned well south of the $12,000 mark.

The cars, it is reported by The Car Connection, will be offered in three trim levels, all of which are motivated by the same 1.0-liter, 71-hp three-pot engine.

The cheapest Smart ForTwo Pure will be priced at $11,590. For the money, you will get a car with five-speed manual gearbox, central remote lock, 2-spoke leather steering wheel, and radio-ready console.

2007 Smart ForTwo (interior)
More expensive Smart ForTwo Passion will start at $13,590 and will be equipped with tiny alloys, air conditioning with climate control, three-spoke leather sports steering wheel with shift paddles, power windows, electric and heated side mirrors, and AM/FM radio with CD player.

The range-topping Smart ForTwo Passion Cabrio will also feature a premium sound system and will cost you $16,590.

All trims will also feature four standard airbags. There will also be a $850 comfort package, consisting of leather seats, power steering, and auto headlamps.
