Land Rover Coupe SUV concept to debut in Detroit
Looks like the coupe SUV crossovers is the next big thing. BMW will certainly be ahead of its major competitors but Land Rover will definitely try to make it to the market as the second automaker with this strange kind of highway-bound off-road vehicle available.

The good news is that the Land Rover LRX coupe crossover will not resemble the hideous Land Rover Range Stormer Coupe SUV first introduced at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show.

The bad news is that the sketch revealed at the IAA motor show in Frankfurt looks too much like a blurred photo of the latest BMW X6 Concept. Seems that Land Rover's new design chief Gerry McGovern will have a hard time making the concept more distinct from the Bavarian soon-to-be-introduced monster.

The car will probably share its platform with the current Land Rover Freelander / LR2 crossover SUV and will cost around $40,000.

Automotive News expects the Land Rover coupe SUV concept to be officially revealed at the upcoming motor show in Detroit next January.

UPDATE: More photos of the Land Rover LRX coupe SUV concept revealed

OK, here is the set. The car doesn't resemble the 2008 BMW X6 but it looks hideous, nevertheless.
