2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X: more photos
Mitsubishi has failed to unveil its new 2008 Lancer Evo X at the 2007 IAA motor show in Frankfurt, yet there is still a chance we will actually see the car at the upcoming 40th Tokyo Motor Show to be held from October 26th through November 11th.
As for now, there is a set of four official photos of the new Evo, including an interior shot of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR, which will be sold in the U.S.
The Evo X, Car and Driver is reporting in its November printed issue, will be equipped with a 295 hp engine producing up to 300 lb-ft of torque and mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Japanese-only Evo X MR will also feature more interesting all-new dual-clutch sequential gearbox, so the car will cost slightly more than the GSR model, which will start at bearable $30,000.
The power will be transmitted to all the four wheels via the new 4WD system with a power split ratio of 50/50 in normal mode and with 80% front or rear bias depending on the driving conditions.
The car will feature a little bit worse acceleration time than the outgoing model, arriving at the 60mph mark in 5 seconds, but will in return provide you with better cornering abilities.
More info and specs later.
