2008 BMW X6 will come in two flavors
The upcoming 2008 BMW X6 SAC will come to U.S. dealerships in the second quarter of 2008. The German company officially confirms that the vehicle will be available with a choice of two engines: a twin-turbo, direct-injected 4.4L V8 and a lot less powerful twin-turbo inline six-banger.

2008 BMW X6
The most potent 2008 BMW X6 will be sold with the rather awkward-looking xDrive50i badge, meaning that there is a 4.4-liter V8 beast under the hood, churning out impressive 400 hp and 450 lb-ft (597 Nm) of torque and transferring it to the wheels via a full-wheel-drive transmission. The company claims that with so much power ready to rock, the vehicle will take only 5.3 seconds to jump from zero to 60 mph. Less powerful X6 xDrive35i will sport a 3.0 inline six-cylinder engine, capable of producing only 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft (407Nm) of torque.

2008 BMW X6 (side)
BMW still stays mum on whether there will ever be available a diesel version of the X6.

2008 BMW X6 (front)
Both trims will be equipped with standard Dynamic Performance Control feature, capable of dynamically transferring torque between the front and rear axles depending on whether you are driving on either a dry or a sloppy road.
