2009 Acura TSX: an inferior 2008 Honda Accord?
The 2009 Acura TSX sports sedan was finally unveiled at the motor show in New York. Although positioned as a serious competitor to the new Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Infiniti G37, the vehicle leaves much to be desired when compared to its European sibling, the 2008 Honda Accord.
The main problem with the Acura TSX is its 2.4-liter DOHC VTEC in-line four-banger. Meeting the EPA's Tier 2-Bin 5 and CARB LEV II Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards, the engine produces only 201hp, which is simply not enough compared to similarly priced 2008 Accord with its range-topping 3.5-liter iVTEC six-pot developing 268hp and 250 lb-ft of torque.
The car seems to feature even less refined interior, although that's not what are you buying such a vehicle for, right?
The 2009 Acura TSX will probably cost less than $30,000. For the price you'll get either a 6-speed close-ratio manual or a Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission; automatic headlight activation; a premium 7-speaker sound system with CD, AM/FM/XM, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink , and USB port music interface. A HomeLink remote control system is also standard.
