Maybach 62S Landaulet to arrive in December, 2008
Okay, it will happen. Maybach's vice president of program management Hans-Dieter Multhaupt confirmed his company's plans to actually build the Maybach 62S Landaulet model. Being the first landaulet in Mercedes' model range since 1981, the 62S will start at an impressive price of $1.35 million. Would be nice to get one for Christmas.
Just like the concept model, Maybach 62S Landaulet will be motivated by a 6.0-liter V12 engine co-developed with Mercedes' private tuner AMG. With 612 hp and 738 lb-ft (1000 Nm) of torque handy, the engine will be more than adequate for the heavy vehicle. Expect the zero to 62mph acceleration time to be around 6 seconds.
