Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid: Europeans will get one, too
Greenspan was right: the weak dollar is good for the American automakers. Sales are getting stronger and, right after Tesla Motor's announcement on Tesla Roadster EV, Fisker Automotive confirmed that their new Fisker Karma four-seater will be shipped to Europe.
In the United States the Karma will be sold at a price of $80,000 so the Europeans may safely expect to pay at least €90,000 for the right to drive this premium sports sedan with a hybrid powertrain and a futuristic-looking roof with an integrated solar panel.
The details on Fisker Karma are still sketchy but the company's management claims the car to take less than 6 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h and reach the top speed of 200 km/h. Nothing special, indeed, but the vehicle is green, remember?
With a plan of building 15,000 Karmas a year, Fisker Automotive will start shipping the hybrids in Q4 2009. Half of the total production will go to Europe.
