Created in cooperation with Mercedes' private tuning studio, the SL65 AMG Black Series will feature a souped-up version of the V12 6.0-liter bi-turbo engine we have already seen on the new SL65 AMG.

Capable of developing impressive 670hp and 1000Nm of torque (compare that to standard SLR McLaren's 626hp and 780Nm,) the V12 will provide the car with impressive 2.76kg / hp power to weight ratio resulting in zero to 60mph acceleration time of less than four seconds. With such an enormous amount of power handy, the SL65 AMG Black Series will have a practical top speed of 220mph (354 km/h), although on the production version it will be limited by safer 186mph (299 km/h), which is still faster than some plains can travel.

To achieve this, almost fantastic, power to weight ratio, AMG's engineers had to replace some metal parts, such as SL65's folding roof, hood, rear-lip spoiler and diffuser, with carbon-fiber and other lightweight materials. After this extensive liposuction, the vehicle's shed about 570lbs (258kg).
