
Brabus tunes 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG roadster
Just as usual, the German super-tuner Brabus offers a comprehensive customization program for yet another wonder-car from Mercedes-Benz. Including an aero-kit, new wheels and suspension, and an engine upgrade, the 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG roadster gets is power limit increased from normal 360 hp to impressive 445 hp.
The 6.1-liter Brabus engine produces 445 hp and features a peak torque of 635 Nm (468 lb-ft). Mated to a 7-speed automatic with Brabus' own limited-slip differential, the engine provides a zero to 100 km/h acceleration of about 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h (189mph).
With new suspension, the car gets lowered by 30mm (1.2in). The Brabus six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355 mm vented and slotted discs in front and 300 mm discs with four-piston aluminum fixed calipers in the rear provide the car with additional stopping power helping to tame the extra 85 horses under the vehicle's hood.
The Brabus-tuned 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG roadster has also received new aero-kit, which includes new front spoiler, side rocker panels and new rear apron with boot spoiler and holes for the Brabus four-pipe stainless-steel sport exhaust system.
Just as usual there is a choice of four sets of 17, 18 or 19 inch sporty alloy wheels to finish the picture.
