Opel Antara Price And Specifications Announced

The new Opel Antara will be officially presented to the public during the next Motor Show in Paris this autumn. Despite constantly growing oil prices, executives from the German Adam Opel AG expect that European crossover and SUV market will be able to swallow yet another member of the already enormous family of off-roaders that will never see the real dirt.



In its press release, Opel says that the new Opel Antara crossover will feature a unibody construction, intellectual four-wheel drive, and high ground clearance combined with compact (4.57 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.70 meters in height) dimensions.

The new Opel Antara will be unleashed with a set of three engines and two transmissions. The most expensive model will come with a 3.2-liter V6 petrol engine, which features 224 horsepower and is mated with an automatic six-speed manual gearbox with ActiveSelect function. The next in line will be a 150 hp 2.0-liter turbo-diesel with common-rail system, which can be ordered width either a manual or an automatic five-speed transmission. The cheapest trim will be equipped with 2.4-liter 141 hp four-cylinder gasoline unit with two overhead camshafts and one balance shaft.

The company promises that the new Opel Antara will be offered with such standard features as ABS, ESP, Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Active Rollover Protection (ARP) and Descent Control System (DCS).

Prices for the new Opel Antara will start at €26,850.
