European Tesla Roadster rated at 300hp
As we have already reported, the iconic Tesla Roadster electric vehicle will come to Europe next year and Tesla's Norwegian rep is already taking orders for the first iteration of the expensive EV equipped with soon to be deprecated two-speed gearbox and a 248 hp motor. Just like it is normal for a company with IT roots, there is already a 1.1 version of the car in the works. Europeans will get it, too.
The next version of Tesla Roadster EV will be equipped with a more powerful 300 hp @ 13,000 rpm electric motor and a one-speed transmission. Together, these two improvements will significantly improve the electric sports car's performance shaving off about 1.7 seconds of its initial not so impressive 5.7 seconds of acceleration time.
What's even more impressive, is that owners of Tesla Roadster 1.0 (or is it still a Beta?) will get a free hardware upgrade when the new gearbox and motor are ready.
The pricing still remains the same: $99,000 for the American model and €99,000 for the European version.
