2007 SEAT Leon FR to Compete Against VW Golf GTi
Spanish SEAT plans to unveil its 2007 SEAT Leon FR hot hatchback during the upcoming Madrid Motor Show next week. It is clear that the new car will compete directly against German VW Golf GTi.

The 2007 SEAT Leon FR will be available with a choice of only two engines.

The 2.0 TFSI powerplant, which is mated to the DSG gearbox, will come directly from the afore-mentioned VW Golf GTi and will provide the car with 197 horsepower and enormous (for such a small vehicle) 280 Nm of torque. With this engine, the car takes only 7.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100km/h and returns quite an impressive fuel economy of only 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

The second engine will work on diesel fuel. Being equipped with the common rail fuel injection system, the 2.0-liter TDI engine is able to produce about 168bhp at 258 lb-ft and will let you run about 47.1 mpg on the combined cycle.

The petrol-powered version of the car will cost £16,995, and the diesel will sell at £17,495.
