JDM Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Ralliart launched
Mitsubishi will soon start selling its long-awaited Galant Fortis Ralliart 4WD sedan. Known outside of Japan as the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, the car is more powerful and sportier than a normal Lancer but stays a step below the real Lancer EVO (you may put a respective Latin numeral here).
The Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Ralliart comes equipped with a detuned 4B11-type 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC engine outsourced from the Lancer EVO X. Producing up to 240PS @ 6000rpm and 343 Nm (253 lb-ft) @ 3000rpm, the engine is mated to Mitsubishi's own Twin Clutch SST automated manual transmission, which passes the power to a full-time 4WD system with a front helical limited slip differential, an active center differential and a mechanical limited slip differential. The 4WD may work in three different modes: TARMAC for dry paved surfaces; GRAVEL for wet tarmac or loose unmade surfaces; and SNOW for snow-covered surfaces.
In Japan, the Galant Fortis Ralliart starts at ¥2,982,000 ($28,138 at the current exchange rate) and in the United States the Lancer Ralliart will be available under $27,000. I'm afraid, in Europe it will cost around €40,000.
