Lotus Evora (Eagle) to be presented in London

Lotus has revealed the first hi-res picture and some details on its upcoming Lotus Evora (Eagle) 2+2 sports car. Equipped with a 3.5-liter 280PS V6 outsourced from Toyota, the new car is claimed to be faster than Elise and more stable than Exige.



Lotus promises the Evora (Eagle) to be a real 2+2 vehicle, meaning that passengers seating in the second raw will actually be able to walk again after the ride is over. What's even more interesting is that the car will evolve during the next five years, getting more appealing to a wider audience of motorists. So, expect to see a two-seater with the space in the rear allocated to luggage storage, a convertible and some ultra-high performance version.

Although some exotic car makers are stripping their vehicles of all comfort features in order save some weight, the Eagle will be available with such amenities as an entertainment system with GPS and touch screen operation, remote release glove box, storage bins, integrated cup holders, Bluetooth hands-free, iPod interface and even an optional reversing camera.

By the way, 'Eagle' is just a codename of the project - the real car will get a different name when it is unveiled next Tuesday at the British Motor Show in London.

Update: okay, now we know the car real name, it will be called Lotus Evora.
