Ford Fiesta Zetec S: a sporty fatso
Although coming equipped with more muscular body kit and lowered ground clearance, the new Ford Fiesta Zetec S fun car doesn't actually leave an impression of a hot mini. Rather, it looks like a little fat guy wearing the Chicago Bulls uniform.
The problem with the car is not only its size and proportions (the Fiesta Zetec S seems to be grossly overweight for its class), but also its set of rather anemic engines. Being equipped with either 118hp, 1.6-liter Duratec Ti-VCT petrol powerplant or an 88hp, 1.6-liter Duratorq TDCi oil-burner, the car takes almost 10 seconds to travel from zero to 62mph. I'm afraid, with such responsiveness it will be as fun to drive as a Chevy Tahoe or another heavy off-roader.
Ford UK plans to start selling the car this autumn, no info on pricing yet.
