U.S. Audi R8 gets carbon-fiber options
Audi of America has just introduced a set of changes for its existing models for the model year 2009. Although the upcoming Audi A4 sedan and Avant models, as well as Audi Q7 3.0 TDI and Audi Q5 SUVs are still out of the price list, there are some candies for the rest of the pack, including the fire-breathing Audi R8.
First of all, the 2009 Audi R8 will be available in two base trims: top of the range R8 Quattro R-tronic starting at a price of $121,500 and a less expensive model with manual transmission available at $112,500.
The list of standard equipment now includes 6CD changer, Bluetooth hands-free interface and the HomeLink garage door opener.
The list of carbon fiber options now includes high-gloss polished version of the standard 19-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels and a number of details made of carbon fiber, including sideblade, interior inlays and engine compartment trim. Hopefully, with all these carbon details installed the R8 gets lighter by a couple of ounces.
