New Five-Door Opel/Vauxhall Corsa Unveiled
Adam Opel AG and its British subsidiary Vauxhall have together unveiled the new version of the five-door Corsa. While three-door trim has been touted as a small, yet sporty hatchback, the five-door Corsa takes market niche of an ideal family car. The both models will be officially presented to the public during the British International Motor Show that takes place in London on July 20 through 30.

In its press release Opel says that the new Opel/Vauxhall Corsa will feature the completely new FlexFix retractable storage system. While usually hidden in the rear bumper, it can be easily pulled out 'like a drawer' to carry up to two bicycles. Shopping has also been made easier thanks to the cars new DualFloor double cargo floor that can be set in two height positions, allows horizontal partitioning of luggage compartment (luggage capacity: 285 – 1100 liters) as well as flat load floor to front seat backs when rear seat back is folded down and load floor is in higher setting.

The new Corsa comes with a choice of five engines, including three gasoline and two common-rail turbo-diesel with power output from 60 to 90 horsepower. The company also promises to offer its new 1.7 CDTI, 125 hp diesel which comes with particle filter. The engines can be mated with either six-speed manual, Easytronic or automatic transmission.

ESP with braking at all four wheels if required, ABS with Cornering Brake Control (CBC).
